In recent days, Jogaverso has been covering the entire case of hackers who gained access to private data from Rockstar.
Initially, we reported that the hacker group known as “ShinyHunters” posted on their dark web page that they had hacked Rockstar through third-party services and were demanding a ransom from the company. You can read the full report with more details here if you wish.
Later, Rockstar issued a statement to some websites confirming the breach. However, according to the company itself, the compromised data does not impact the organization or players. This, however, did not make it clear what exactly was accessed by the hackers.
Now, on April 13, the story has taken a new turn. This is because the hacker group, in a statement given to the BBC, claimed that their demands were not met by Rockstar and that they will release the data they have.
The BBC described the group as English-speaking cybercriminals and possibly teenagers. It is worth noting, however, that the group has a history of breaking into other well-known organizations, such as Microsoft, Cisco, and AT&T.
That said, it is very likely that this data — which may include GTA 6 leaks — could surface tomorrow or in the coming days. For now, we can only wait and see what comes next.
