Expectations for Phantom Blade Zero are very high. The game is easily one of the year’s biggest releases and will arrive on September 9, 2026, for PS5 and PC.
Since its first reveal, the S-GAME title has drawn a lot of attention due to its aesthetics and intense action.
Many players even compared it to games in the souls-like genre. However, the developer has already made a point of denying this, assuring that the title will be a much more accessible action experience.
And now, S-GAME has decided to win over the community’s heart in yet another epic way.
Phantom Blade Zero is 100% made by humans
In the final stretch of development, the studio issued a statement on social media completely rejecting the use of generative Artificial Intelligence in the game.
Yes, according to the company’s CEO, they refused to use any AI-based visual technology so as not to alter the artists’ original creative intent.
All character models were created through 3D scans of real people, who also provided facial capture. In addition, the voice acting was fully refined by actors, delivering complete lip-sync for both English and Chinese.
The team’s dedication went so far that they even commissioned real-life replicas of the game’s weapons from master blacksmiths.
This was done solely so that the developers could feel the weight and understand the impact each sword would have in real movement.
Speaking of movement, the combat in Phantom Blade Zero involved motion capture from more than 20 martial arts specialists. The team consulted traditional masters, bringing in sword experts from Mount Emei and lion dance masters from Guangdong.
We will have to wait until September to see whether Phantom Blade Zero will truly live up to all its potential.
