New Game in the Metro Franchise Will Be Revealed Next Week

It seems that the stage for this announcement will be the PlayStation State of Play.

Expectations for the next game in the Metro franchise are extremely high—especially since it has been seven long years since the release of Metro Exodus back in 2019.

Throughout all this time, 4A Games has maintained almost complete silence about the future of the series. However, this agonizing wait now seems to be close to ending.

New Metro gets a possible announcement date!

Last week, the internet was hit with a big surprise involving the franchise. I say this because user AlexandreNGamR claimed on X that the reveal of the new game will take place next week.

However, the information gained even more weight when the well-known insider NateTheHate confirmed it. In response, he stated “it’s true” and assured that the rumors about the announcement have a solid basis.

It seems that the stage for this announcement will be the PlayStation State of Play. According to rumors, Sony’s event is scheduled for next Thursday, April 16.

What to expect from Metro 4?

It’s worth remembering that, back in 2023, Insider Gaming revealed that the game was already 100% playable internally. In other words, development is already very advanced, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the title received a release date for 2026 itself.

Additionally, 4A Games has already promised that the new chapter will maintain a strong focus on a major single-player experience, fully centered on narrative.
