GTA 6: Disappointing News Leaks Regarding Online Mode

GTA 6’s online mode won’t arrive at launch, just as we suspected.

GTA 6 is one of the most—if not the most—anticipated games in history. Rockstar’s title is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.

And while the main campaign focused on Lucia and Jason promises to deliver everything fans dream of, there is one detail that might disappoint some.

Yes, we are talking about the coveted GTA 6 online mode, which will possibly be excluded from the initial launch.

GTA 6 Online Mode Won’t Arrive at Launch!

According to well-known insider TheGhostOfHope, Rockstar plans to release the multiplayer mode only within a month after the base game’s arrival.

In other words, if the leak is true, players will only be able to access the online component between late November and mid-December 2026. In truth, this strategy isn’t much of a surprise for franchise veterans.

After all, Rockstar typically adopts this tactic to ease server strain and allow players to focus entirely on the main story before diving into multiplayer.

In 2013, for example, GTA Online was released only two weeks after the debut of GTA 5. The same happened with Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, whose online mode took more than 30 days to officially debut in its beta version.

But when GTA 6 Online finally arrives, the wait promises to be well worth it, because it will be massive.

GTA 6 Online Could Create New Millionaires!

As we already know, Rockstar acquired the Cfx.re team—creators of the popular FiveM servers—back in 2023, and now the studio’s plan is starting to make perfect sense.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick makes no secret of the company’s strong interest in the user-generated content market.

According to new information from insider HipHopGamer, the intention is for GTA 6 to have a robust ecosystem very similar to the current models of Roblox and Fortnite.

The idea is for roleplay server creators and modders to be able to monetize and sell their content in a completely official and licensed manner, which could create actual millionaires within the community itself.

It is worth noting that in January of this year, Rockstar kicked this off by officially launching the Cfx.re Marketplace, already paving the way for what is to come in the new game.

The heavy marketing campaign for GTA 6 is expected to officially begin mid-year, so stay tuned.
